Pomona Valley Hospital Lawsuit

A lawsuit filed in 2011 claims that more than a dozen patients may have been involved in an unapproved off-label experimental medical procedure without their knowledge. Pomona Valley Hospital and Stryker Biotech allegedly were conducting a research experiment by implanting a medical device containing Stryker’s OP-1 Putty (used to promote bone growth) and Calstrux (bone void filler) into patients’ spinal columns during spinal or cervical fusion surgeries.

This mixture can result in the development and migration of unwanted and excessive bone growth leading to serious or catastrophic injury, compression of nerve channels, back and leg pain, crippling pain, severe scarring, and paralysis.
