Baum Hedlund Files First-of-its-Kind Baby Food Lawsuit

Filed on behalf of a seven-year-old boy, our lawsuit alleges several major baby food companies knowingly sell products that contain dangerously high levels of arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury. Research shows that exposure to these toxic metals can lead to autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. We now represent more than 1,000 families throughout the country in this litigation.

$10.9 Billion Roundup Cancer Settlements

After winning multiple jury verdicts worth roughly $2.4 billion, Baum Hedlund Vice President and Senior Shareholder R. Brent Wisner helped negotiate settlements to resolve thousands of Monsanto Roundup cancer cases for a combined $10.9 billion. The resolution is one of the largest in recent history. Super Lawyers Magazine recently dubbed Wisner ‘The 2 Billion Dollar Man’ for his success with the Pilliod trial. Our firm is no longer accepting Roundup cases.

Litigation Updates

Zantac: California state litigation in the Zantac (ranitidine) cancer cases is well underway. Baum Hedlund Senior Shareholder R. Brent Wisner and Jennifer Moore of the Moore Law Group were appointed to the plaintiffs’ leadership in the California “Ranitidine Product Cases” JCCP 5150, currently the largest state court proceeding in the Zantac litigation. With hundreds of Zantac cases pending in the California Ranitidine Product Cases JCCP and thousands in the federal Zantac MDL, our firm is among the top in the nation representing claimants who allege the popular heartburn medication caused them to develop cancer. The first Zantac trial, a case from the Ranitidine Product Cases JCCP 5150, is scheduled for October 2022.

Gardasil: Baum Hedlund has taken the lead in the Gardasil HPV vaccine litigation against Merck. We have filed nearly two dozen lawsuits since 2020 on behalf of young women and men who allege the vaccine caused them to develop Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and other severe autoimmune disorders. Hundreds of people from across the U.S. have retained our firm to file their petitions before the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP) and/or pursue cases against Merck & Co., Gardasil’s manufacturer, in civil court.

Aviation & Ground Transportation: Baum Hedlund continues to litigate truck accident cases across the United States on behalf of victims seeking justice. We handle aviation accident lawsuits involving commercial airliners, single-engine aircraft, passenger jets, helicopters, military and other aircraft. California Wildfires: Baum Hedlund led claims for more than 200 victims of the 2018 Camp Fire in Northern California, the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in state history.
