Nine Dead after a Metro Commuter Train Crash in Washington, D.C.
At least nine people were killed and several others injured after two Washington, DC subway trains collided during rush hour near the Maryland border.  One of the cars derailed, causing another one to run into it.  The NTSB is sending a team to the scene to determine the cause.

On Sunday, May 31, an Air France Airbus A330-200 carrying 228 people from Rio de Janeiro to Paris, disappeared from radar after encountering stormy weather and "strong turbulence.  Besides stormy weather, a circuit failure is also being considered as a possible cause for the disappearance.
