Diane Marger Moore Now a Member of the ATAA

Board-certified truck accident attorney Diane Marger Moore from the law firm of Baum Hedlund Aristei & Goldman became a member of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys (ATAA) in August 2019.

ATAA is a nonprofit organization with more than 500 members across the nation. ATAA’s mission is to:

  • Recognize attorneys who have knowledge, experience, and demonstrate proven results handling truck crash cases so that victims can choose lawyers with confidence. Lawyers can claim to be anything on websites or in their promotional material, but every ATAA Board Certified member has been thoroughly vetted and tested.
  • Provide truck accident attorneys with the best education and resources available to improve their knowledge and skillset and create a pathway to achieve board certification in trucking litigation.
  • Advocate for legislative and regulatory initiatives that affect highway safety and the trucking industry.

Diane Marger Moore is triple board-certified in three categories by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) as a Board-Certified Civil Trial Advocate, a Board-Certified Civil Pretrial Practice Advocate, and a Board-Certified Truck Accident Attorney.

NBTA board-certified truck crash lawyers dedicate a substantial percentage of their practice to trucking litigation, have experience handling multiple truck accident cases, and pass a comprehensive written exam.

To become a board-certified ATAA member, an attorney must go through a detailed vetting process in which experience and results litigating truck accident cases are verified and skills and knowledge are tested. Unlike other organizations, membership cannot be purchased and no attorneys get favorable treatment; ATAA seeks to create a distinction between the great lawyers and the great marketers.

Why Hire a Board-Certified Truck Accident Attorney?

Millions of drivers operate tractor trailers on our nation’s roads. The sheer size and weight of commercial trucks cause significant damage in the event of an accident, especially in crashes involving a passenger vehicle, motorcycle, bicycle or pedestrian.

According to 2017 statistics from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), roughly 97% of vehicle occupant fatalities in crashes between a large truck and a passenger vehicle were occupants of the passenger vehicle.

After a truck crash, victims may suffer from severe injuries, or worse, the loss of a family member. If negligence on the part of a trucking company, driver or manufacturer played a role in the crash, victims may file a trucking accident lawsuit to recover damages.

Many law firms market themselves as truck accident attorneys. According to the NBTA, more than 1,500 lawyers in the U.S. practice truck accident law, while another 1,000 participate in a limited capacity. However, few attorneys possess the experience, skill, and resources necessary to obtain the justice and results for truck crash victims, and very few are selected as Board-Certified Truck Accident Law Advocates.
