The family of a 53-year-old bus driver killed in a crash with a FedEx tractor-trailer has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the courier company. Talalelei Lealao-Taiao was driving a Silverado Stages tour bus on April 10, when a FedEx tractor-trailer crossed over the grass median of Interstate 5, entered oncoming traffic and slammed into the bus. She was one of 10 people killed in the tragedy.
Lealao-Taiao’s family filed the wrongful death lawsuit on Wednesday, claiming that negligence caused the fatal collision.
In a related matter, state judicial officials approved a petition earlier in October to coordinate lawsuits stemming from the April 10 FedEx truck crash in Los Angeles Superior Court. According to Baum Hedlund Aristei & Goldman, a status conference on the crash lawsuits is set fcrashes/10-dead-dozens-injured-in-fiery-crash-between-FedEx-truck-and-tour-bus/or next Thursday, November 6.
