Paul Hedlund Discusses Asiana Flight 214 Crash at SFO

Attorney and mechanical engineer, Paul Hedlund, sat down in the studio with KNBC 4 News Los Angeles one day after the crash landing of Asiana Airlines Flight 214 at SFO.

Mr. Hedlund gave insights as to what he thinks may have happened just before the crash and what the airplane itself should have been doing in those final seconds. Mr. Hedlund says, “There’s an audible too late from the crew itself, but what about from the aircraft to tell the crew that they’re falling way below the speed that they didn’t want to go below, where’s that?”

Mr. Hedlund suggests that there need to be systems in place that tell the crew when the aircraft is degrading below a set level that was determined before the flight even begins.

The Boeing 777 plane accident which occurred on July 6, 2013, had 291 passengers on board. Two teenage girls were killed, while another 182 people were injured.
