Three Tourists Killed and 12 Others Injured
in Small Tour Bus Crash

Three people were killed and 12 others injured when a tour bus crashed on Interstate 15 in Utah on Monday evening. The tour bus was carrying Japanese tourists on their way to Bryce National Park in Utah when it veered off the interstate and rolled into a median.

At least six people remain in hospitals with critical injuries. Officials said they could not release any information on the condition of the child but said the child is receiving treatment at Primary Children’s Medical Center.

According to officials, the bus was traveling from Las Vegas to the national park when it veered into a median and rolled over on its top. The crash occurred about four miles north of Cedar City. At least two people were ejected from the vehicle, police said.

State police now believe that the driver of the bus may have been unfocused and drowsy behind the wheel. The 26-year-old Japanese man suffered minor injuries and was able to talk to investigators shortly after leaving the hospital. The National Transportation Safety Board has sent a team to the crash site to determine the cause of the fatal bus crash.
