Baum, Hedlund, Aristei & Goldman is recognized as a preeminent plaintiff firm that handles serious personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits across the nation stemming from commercial transportation and pharmaceutical drug products liability. The firm was established in 1973 and for more than 20 years now, we have represented thousands of victims in airline, general aviation, bus, train and trucking accidents as well as clients injured by defective pharmaceutical products. These types of cases routinely involve complicated evidence and choice of law issues in both state and federal courts throughout the country. See Baum, Hedlund, Aristei & Goldman's published cases.

The firm’s commercial transportation litigation department has handled over 500 airline and general aviation accident cases against all the major airlines and manufacturers and more than 260 commercial trucking, train and bus accident cases across the nation against defendants such as, Amtrak, Greyhound, Fed-Ex, Food 4 Less, Ford Motor Co., J. B. Hunt, Kimberly-Clark, Lucky’s, Schneider National Trucking Co., and Tyson Foods.

Baum Hedlund’s drug product liability litigation department has handled over 3,000 antidepressant product liability cases, and many other wrongful death and personal injury cases from many other types of drugs against defendants such as, Bayer Corp, Eli Lilly, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Pfizer, and Wyeth. Our firm has the longest track record of any law firm in the country handling SSRI-antidepressant cases.

Our attorneys come from varied backgrounds and offer a unique combination of skills that are particularly useful in the investigation of defective products and commercial transportation accidents. Two of the firm's attorneys are also pilots, two have engineering degrees and three were law professors. Former Adjunct Aviation Accident Law Professor, Ronald L. M. Goldman, is a private pilot and John Greaves is an airline-transport pilot and served as a captain of a major airline. Paul Hedlund has a degree in mechanical engineering and Ilyas Akbari has a bioengineering degree. In addition to Ronald Goldman,  Clark Aristei and Nicole Maldonado were also law professors prior to joining Baum Hedlund. Many of the firm's attorneys have delivered Continuing Legal Education accredited lectures on the complexities of mass tort litigation.

Baum Hedlund's staff has the experience and education to effectively handle complex cases from intake to resolution.  Our attorneys have served on over 17 plaintiff steering committees in mass tort litigation that manage complex multi-district litigation arising from airline and train disasters,  pharmaceutical drug defects and construction failures. Our attorneys have tried well over 200 cases in their careers.

We have successfully defeated several attempts by the federal government, and defendants, including major airlines, rail organizations   and pharmaceutical companies, who argued that Federal Law preempted our clients' claims in aviation accidents, trains disasters and drug product liability cases.

Many of the firm’s partners have spearheaded, and participated in, proactive campaigns that have led to safety improvements. Baum Hedlund attorneys have testified on at least eight occasions at state and federal levels regarding commercial transportation, building and drug safety and upon invitation by a foreign government to testify about the risks of a certain U.S. manufactured medication.
